Apple 2023 Event Preview: Improved Heart Rate Sensor and New Chip for Apple Watch Series 9

Amidst the buzz surrounding the iPhone 15 series and iOS 17, Apple has some other noteworthy products in the pipeline. Mark your calendars for September 12, 2023, as Apple is set to unveil the highly anticipated Apple Watch Series 9. This new iteration of the watch is expected to feature improved heart rate monitoring capabilities and a faster chip.

Excitement is building as Apple’s big event approaches and people are eager to see what new products Apple will unveil. In addition to the Apple Watch Series 9 and iPhone 15 series, there will probably be a second generation Apple Watch Ultra and the next generation of Airpods.

What to expect from the Apple Watch Series 9

While we know quite a bit about the iPhone 15, there hasn’t been much information about the new Apple Watches. But according to a new report, the Apple Watch Series 9 will get some cool upgrades like a better heart rate sensor and a new U2 chip.

Exciting updates for Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2

According to Bloomberg, the new watches, both Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra, will look the same as before. Apple is saving a major redesign for later. But tech expert Mark Gurman says these watches will have a new chip and some other improvements. One of the exciting things is a more accurate heart rate sensor.

According to the report, the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 will have a U2 chip in addition to a better heart rate sensor. This chip is an improved version of a special chip in current Apple hardware that helps with things like location tracking.

Gurman believes all of these changes will come to the new watches, but there’s one more thing to note about the Apple Watch Ultra 2. It comes in a new all-black color unlike the current version which is only available in titanium.

This year, Apple is focusing on making smaller improvements to its Apple Watch lineup. But looking ahead, there is some interesting news. A completely redesigned Apple Watch with a special microLED display is rumored to be coming in the next few years. Some experts thought it might arrive in late 2025, but others say it might not arrive until early 2026.

Anyway, all the action will be at Apple Event 2023 and you should log in and check it out.
